5. BELIEF IN THE LAST DAY
The last day of the world. As all things in existence have a lifespan, this world too has a lifespan and one day its allotted time will draw to an end and the Day of Judgment will begin. Allah will judge His servants and reward or punish them according to their own deeds in this world and they will either be sent to Paradise or Hell.
6. BELIEF IN DESTINY
Whatever good or bad happens in this world occurs by the Will of Allah. Whoever finds himself favored with blessings owes Allah Almighty a debt of gratitude. If misfortune touches them, it comes from Allah as well, as a test or punishment for their actions. It is the duty of the individual to be grateful for the blessings and to be patient in the face of calamities.
THE TESTIMONY OF FAITH / SHAHADA
Shahada is the testimony of faith. When an Individual accepts the above six articles of the Declaration of Faith then they can take Shahada to begin their new life as a Muslim and say the following words in Arabic:
"ASH HA'DU AN LAA E'LAA'HA IL'LAL LAAH WA ASH HA'DU AN'NA MU'HAM'MA'DAN AB'DU'HU WA RA'SU'LUH'
"I testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the true messenger"
The Individual who recites the words of The Declaration of Faith/Shahada once will be cleansed of all the sins committed up until that moment and enters the religion of Islam and would die as a believer destined for Paradise.
Once Shahada is taken the Individual will then have responsibilities to fulfill towards The Creator, Self, People, Society, Nature and Animals as a part of their life.
